Box is a cloud storage and collaboration service that allows students, faculty, and staff to access and share non-sensitive/moderately sensitive college files securely – anywhere, anytime, on any device, for as long as they're at Earlham. All Earlham employees and students have a Box account with a 20GB quota limit.
You can find "Earlham Box" under the "IT services" section in the Heart or at https://earlham.box.com. Use your Earlham username and password to access the site.
When using Box mobile apps, make sure that you use the small SSO login link below the Username/Password boxes. It might also ask for your email address so that it knows to send you to Earlham's login page.
You can use Box online at https://earlham.box.com. The pictures used in this guide were made using the online version of Box, not Box Drive.
However, you can also set up Box Drive on your computer. Box Drive is a cloud-based service that allows you to work with files on your computer and save them directly to the cloud. If you are working on a file in your Box Drive folder while offline, it will automatically upload the new version as soon as you reconnect to the internet.
If you already use Box Sync, the Box Drive software includes an uninstaller that automatically removes Sync and cleans up your synced content.
You can download Box Drive to your computer here and learn more about the product here. You can find a guide on Box drive and working offline in the ITS Knowledge Base. Box also has a guide on working offline.
Please note: bookmarked files don't appear in your Box Drive, so advise students to view those files in the web version of Box.
