Export Calendar into Google

To export your course calendar from Moodle into Google, do the following:

Note that exporting your course calendar is an easy way to keep track of course deadlines. After understanding this, do the following: 

  1. On the dashboard, click on calendar
  2. Click export calendar.
  3. Choose the events you want to export (ex. All events or events related to courses) for a time period of your choosing.
  4. Click get calendar URL.
  5. Copy the URL. 
  6. In a separate tab, open your Google Calendar. 
  7. On the left side of the page, click the arrow to the right of other calendars. 
  8. Click add by URL
  9. Paste the URL from Moodle into the box, and click Add Calendar

Export Calendar into Zimbra

To export your course calendar from Moodle to Zimbra, do the following:

Note that exporting your course calendar into Zimbra is an easy way to keep track of important deadlines. After understanding this, do the following: 

  1. On the dashboard, click on calendar
  2. Use the events key on the right side of the page, and select the events you want to display. (Note: To add specific class assignments and nothing else, make sure you have course events selected only.)
  3. Click export calendar.
  4. Choose the events you want to export (ex. All events or Events related to courses) for a time period of your choosing.
  5. Click get calendar URL.
  6. Copy the URL.
  7. Open your Zimbra email, and click on the calendar tab.
  8. Click on the cog tool next to calendars in the box on the left side of the page.
  9. Select add external calendar.
  10. Choose add external calendar (Other). Click next.
  11. From the drop-down menu, select iCal subscription.
  12. Paste the URL from Moodle into the box, and click next
  13. Give your calendar a name, and choose the color that you want to display for the events in your calendar.
  14. Click ok.
