Writing your thesis introduction can be a challenge. How do you draw readers in and introduce them to the scope of your thesis (something you have spent a long time working on) in a relatively short space? Your introduction should do a few things. It should introduce your topic, briefly outline the current state of your topic (a.k.a., identify the gap in the literature you are hoping to fill, which you will discuss in more detail in the literature review), and set forth the hypothesis or argument your thesis will make.
