The Earlham College Friends Collection and Archives, located downstairs in Lilly Library, contains our extensive collection of Quaker and college documents and artifacts. It also includes our popular and ever-expanding collection of photographs (of which there are, officially, 'many').
Ever since the advent of popular (and cheap!) photography in the late-1800s, students have been documenting the college and often creating remarkable works of art in the process. Throughout these images, the stories of their subjects come to life before our eyes and reveal the Earlham College of the past -- one that isn't so different from today.
Using the tabs above, you can view photographs from Earlham's history and see for yourself how much we've changed -- and how much has stayed the same.
