Types of Books in the Library

Types of books offered at the library

Reference =  books that can only be used in the library

Circulating/Main Collection = Books you can check out and take with you. Most you can keep for four weeks, and renew up to five more times unless the book is needed by someone else. More information available on the circulation policies page. In Lilly Library the "Main" collection books are located on the third floor.

Reserves = Placed on hold by a professor so that many students in a class can access them. Ask for them by your professor's name at the circulation desk. Loan periods vary.

E-book = an electronic book, meaning its just like having a real book except you can read it online.

Interlibrary Loan = Books the library will get for you for free from another library. If Earlham doesn't have a book you want, use WorldCat to request it from another library. See a librarian if you need more help.
