AGU American Geophysical Union  Dedicated to the furtherance of the geophysical sciences through the individual efforts of its members and in cooperation with other national and international scientific organizations.

American Metereorological Society Promotes the development and dissemination of information and education on the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences and the advancement of their professional applications.

National Climatic Data Center Provides historical climate data, recent weather events and other information essential to monitoring current weather conditions.

National Weather Service  the sole official voice of the U.S. government for issuing warnings during life-threatening weather situations    

NOAA - Central Library Foreign Climate Data - Links to data arranged by country or region.  The time period of coverage ranges from the 1830s through the 1970s with most data from the period prior to 1960. Each series typically includes observations for a number of meteorological and other geophysical parameters.
