How do I evaluate the credibility of a website?

  1. Authority - Who is the author? Is it an individual or an organization?
  2. Purpose - Why was the source created? Who is the intended audience?
  3. Relevance - How is it relevant to your research? Primary source? Secondary Source? Peer-reviewed?
  4. Date of publication - When was it written? Has it been updated?
  5. Documentation - Did they cite their sources? What did they cite?
