Academic Integrity at Earlham: Resources

General Resources

For Individual Reflection and Group Discussion

Consider the following scenarios and how to respond with academic integrity.

1) It is 42 hours before your semester project is due and you have barely started.  What are honest options for addressing your situation?

2) Your roommate earns cash by writing papers for other students.  How does this impact you and the Earlham community?

3) You recall having read a certain important idea about your topic, but you don't remember exactly where, so you are tempted to fabricate a citation.  What would be an alternative solution?

(The above scenarios are adapted from "Academic Integrity: Classroom Activities, 50 Ways to Jumpstart Academic Integrity Discussion in Your Class," developed by Renee Gravois Lee and Lisa M. Burns)
